This beautifully preserved building is 5 miles (8 km) from London Stansted Airport and is next to a traditional country pub. It offers free transfers, free Wi-Fi, late check-ins and en suite rooms. The precise age of Bonningtons is not known, however 1st records originate from the early 1600s, so it is likely that the house predates this by a few years indicating a very late 16th century or early 17th century property. It is now a grade II listed building with a number of key listed features. Records are not precise but at some stage the property was acquired by the Houblon's Hallingbury estate. Bonningtons itself was reportedly the home of the estate manager. The estate itself also included Hatfield Forest. It was Jacob Houblon that created the current lake to be found in the centre of the forest, some time around 1740. Jacobs son further enhanced the estate and forest around 1770 with the consultation of the famous landscaper Capability Brown adding further exotic trees and some areas opened up to improve the views. The lake itself was also altered at this time<br/>

La date de construction précise du Bonnigtons n'est pas connue mais il date sans doute de la fin du XVIe siècle ou du début du XVIIe siècle. Ce bâtiment est classé au grade II et présente de nombreuses caractéristiques d'époque. L'établissement a été acquis par la propriété Hallingbury de Houblon. Le gestionnaire de la propriété y a vécu. La propriété comprenait également Hatfield Forest. Jacob Houblon a créé le lac qui se trouve au centre de la forêt, aux alentours de 1740. Le fils de Jacob a encore embelli la propriété et la forêt vers 1770 à l'aide du célèbre paysagiste Capability Brown qui a ajouté des arbres exotiques et des espaces ouverts pour améliorer la vue. Le lac a également subi des changements à ce moment. </p>
